TTAWA – In an unforeseen twist to the ongoing debate over immigration rates, Canada's iconic geese have staged a nationwide "honk-in" protesting the surge of human migrants into their serene homeland.

"We've been flying south for the winter for ages, and every time we come back, there's a new condo on our favorite pond," honked Gary, a spokesperson for the Geese United Alliance. "It's like these humans just keep flocking in. At this rate, we'll be vacationing in Mexico year-round."

The protests come in the wake of a recent poll showing a significant decrease in public support for high levels of human immigration to Canada. However, the geese argue it's not just the housing market at stake, but the overall "Canadian vibe."

"First, it was the poutine shortages, now it's overcrowded migratory routes," quacked Shirley, a disgruntled goose from Vancouver. "I mean, I bumped into three ducks and a moose last trip. It's getting ridiculous!"

When asked about the root cause of these grievances, many geese pointed to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s government. "With all due respect to Mr. Trudeau, while his hair might be admired by many of us for its nest-building capabilities, his immigration policies? Not so much," Gary commented.

In response to the geese's complaints, Immigration Minister Marc Miller announced a new policy initiative: a specially designed "Airbnb for Geese," aimed at ensuring Canada's favorite feathered friends have ample space when they return each spring. "We recognize the need for balance. For every new human, we'll also guarantee a prime nesting spot. It's the Canadian way."

Meanwhile, other species are watching with keen interest. The moose community has scheduled a town-hall meeting for next month, and rumors are circulating about a possible "Moose March" to Ottawa.

As for the geese, their protests continue, with their majestic V formations now shaping into a more defiant "?" in the sky.

"Look, we just want what's best for Canada, eh," said Gary, fluffing his feathers for emphasis. "And maybe, just maybe, fewer condos on our ponds."
